Panglao Island Nature Resort and Spa 0

This beautiful island of Bohol, more popularly known for the chocolate hills and the smallest primates in the world, the Philippines Tarsier, also possesses gifts from nature, which are in the process of making its name to the world.

Philippines may be known for the white sand beaches of Boracay, but Bohol also has something to be called a counterpart of Boracay. I am a person who loves beaches, enjoying the breeze of the sea, and seeing the horizon lit up and go darker through a sunset.

Panglao Island, BoholBohol really amazed me, taking pride in having a lot of sugar-white beaches. Ideal for a summer escapade with people close to your heart, it will surely make moments many times better with scenery of nature. Basically, a good place for honeymoons and lovers who wished to create more cherished memories.

One particular beach, probably the most noted one is the Panglao Island Nature Resort and Spa. Located in Bingag, in the island of Panglao, Bohol Philippines, the resort is a mixture of the Filipino culture and a tropical paradise. The traditional Nipa Huts are common in the resort complex but the resort offers a pool that seems like connected to the ocean itself.

Being just few hours of the sea trip from the nearby Metro Cebu, getting to Panglao is near by resort spa that will immediately relieve tension from working in a busy city. They also have a website where quick reservations can be arranged. Offering Superior, Forest Bungalow, and Sea view bungalow, gives the tourist the choice of which is the best spot for the right occasions.

Children can also enjoy this Shangri-La to the utmost extent. Staying in the resort alone is a soul-feeding experience but the other services that they can provide make them even more competitive tourist destination. They were able to develop eco walks that lead to the caves deep in the forest. A magnificent architecture of nature, beautiful rock formations and colorful stones is what makes this cave a marvel.

Apart from the walks, swimming and long distance travel, they also have spas and good therapists who ensure replenishing touches to the body. They have various methods of applying forms of massage to visitors who were developed from foreign techniques but most of them originated from the traditional massage techniques of the native Boholanos.

They even provide the best venue for an invigorating massage. Soft mattresses enclosed in a room that gives a feel of real nature that will definitely tear down those stress and tension away.

Lechon – A Taste of Cebuano 0

Like most traditions, Filipinos are known for their unique taste and delicacies. For decades, there was a food, which became a customary main course in every table of Filipino dishes especially on weddings, birthdays and fiestas. However, this one is not just an ordinary dish. It is a massive dish. “Lechon” is the local term for a suckling roasted pig. Oink! Oink! A whole pig is removed with intestines and replaced with herbs and spices. Then the pig is inserted with a huge bamboo stick from the rear and will come out of the mouth.

A taste of Cebuano

We just arrived early that morning in Cebu. Our flight landed at exactly 10:30. We hailed a cab and took us directly to SM City Cebu. It was a massive mall; recently, they renovated and extended this shopping center. Astoundingly, the extension was bigger than the original mall, huge isn’t it? Cebu has many Lechon restaurants to offer, but my cousin told me that CNT Lechon offers the best in Cebu.

At first, I was pretty sure that we were lost in the mall, then we found the customer service booth and asked about CNT Lechon. Unfortunately, the mall doesn’t have a CNT lechon branch. So we went outside and took a cab to CNT Lechon. I personally expected a wooden restaurant but to my disbelief, it was a two-storey building with CNT lechon written on the walls. Most lechon restaurants are crowded with people. Clearly, what I liked about lechon is the crunchy skin that surely crackles every bite also the flavorful meat.

Although I know it is high in cholesterol but having this once in a while is great (or not? :D ). It always comes with rice but that time, they were serving “puso”, a rice wrap with young coconut leaves, so we plainly ordered those and started nibbling. As usual, it is really a full meal and like every other lechon, bones are the only parts left on our plate.

City Life in Cebu City 0

Cebu may be graced with good natural tourist attractions and cultural heritage sites. But if you are the type that likes to stay in 5 star hotels, Cebu has a lot to offer, ranging from the high peaks that surround the vast city and into the heart of the metropolis itself.

city lifeGoing to Cebu comes along with a list of should-go-places. A vast and busy city that is Cebu, offers a wide array of resort hotels and spas. One of the most popular hotels in Cebu is the Waterfront Hotel. Entering the hotel, I already felt the classiness of the place. It has a spacious parking lot, full of trees and plants accompanied by the chirping birds.

Imagine that? Nature, in the middle of a gigantic city. The establishment itself looks like it was a palace. The Lobby is huge, joyful like most hotels, filled with busy bellboys, incoming and outgoing tourists. There are palm trees in the lobby, no usual big chandeliers but a map of the world that looks like it was imitated from an 18th century map.

Also, if you have this urge of gambling, Waterfront can offer one for you. If you want to spend the night playing poker, or sitting in front of a slot machine, then the casino would definitely hook you in. Waterfront is rated as a 5-star hotel, I should say that this luxurious paradise in the middle of a city is an ideal place to stay if you plan to visit Cebu.

Lately, there is this hotel that has been in the got-to-go lists of many domestic tourists. The Crown Regency Hotel & Towers, 23-storey high fuente 1 and it’s twin, the 38-story fuente two offers a breath taking view of Cebu. It is the tallest building outside Metro Manila, and it takes pride in belonging to the most elusive hotels in Metro Cebu. Truly massive and amazing structure. However, apart from this, the hotel still has some things that make it on the top list of most visited hotels in Cebu.

They have amusements that not only offer a clear view of Cebu, but a heart-pounding experience as well. The Sky Experience Adventure offer seats that revolve around the edges atop the 38th floor of fuente 2, and the most unforgettable thing about it is that it TILTS! More like a safe way of attempting to throw you down a 38 storey building but with safety measures of course.

If you are tired of sitting, you can walk! The hotel also offers the Sky walk, showcases a ring of high quality glass that allows people (attached safely with a harness system)to walk on it. It also shows a clear view of what is seated below. I was just there to see my other cousins enjoy the ride and the walk. But I never tried it myself, ‘coz I’m aerophobia! Too bad.
